Home  “ T his is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. ” [Matthew 1:18-19] “ She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus ” T he birth of Jesus Christ was different from any of the births mentioned in the genealogy.  There we found the repeated phrase “A begot B.” But now we have the record of a birth without a human father. The facts surrounding this miraculous conception are stated with dignity and simplicity. Mary had been promised in marriage to Joseph, but the wedding had not yet taken place. During the time of her betrothal, the Virgin Mary became pregnant by a miracle of the Hol...

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us..."

Image
Home  “ I n the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. ” Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”   [John 1: 1-2,14, 14:6] And the Word was God.. I n the beginning was the Word.  He did not have a beginning Himself, but existed from all eternity. As far as the human mind can go back, the Lord Jesus was there. He never was created. The Word was with God.  The Word was with God. He had a separate and distinct personality. He was not just an idea, a thought, but a real Person who lived with God. The Word was God. He not only dwelt with God, but He Himself was God. The Bible teaches that there is one God and that there are three Persons in the Godhead—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three of thes...

Second Coming of the LORD JESUS CHRIST

Image
Home  “ “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered: "...You will hear of wars and rumors of wars,.. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of birth pains." ” [ Matthew 24:3, 6-8 ]    "The coming of the LORD" T he manifestation of Christ’s coming is His return to earth in power and great glory to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. The Rapture will not be seen by the world; it takes place in a split second. But every eye will see Christ when He comes to reign. Therefore it is called the manifestation of His presence (parousia). During the first half of the Tribulation, many false messiahs will appear who will succeed in deceiving multitudes. The current rise of many false cults may be a prelude to this, ...

"O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

Image
Home  “ Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God.” [ Matthew 14:31-33 ]    "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" W hile He was dismissing the multitude, Jesus told the disciples to get into the boat and start back to the other side of the lake. Then He went up on a hillside to pray. When evening came, He was alone there.  Meanwhile, the boat was now far from land and battling a contrary wind. As the waves battered the boat, Jesus saw the disciples' plight. In the fourth watch of the night (between 3:00 and 6:00 a.m.), He went to them walking on the sea. Thinking it was a ghost the disciples panicked. But immediately they heard the reassuring voice of their Master and Friend. "Be of good...

Flee fornication

Image
Home  “ The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body." "Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! ” [1 Cor :6:13,  1 Cor 6:19]    "Flee fornication" I n planning the human body, God never intended that it should be used for vile or impure purposes.  Rather He planned that it should be used for the glory of the Lord and in His blessed service. There is something amazing in this verse which should not escape notice. Not only is the body for the Lord, but even more wonderful is the thought that the Lord is for the body. This means that the Lord is interested in our bodies, their welfare, and their proper use. God wants our bodies to be presented to Him a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable (Rom. 12:1). To further emphasize the need for personal purity in our lives a...

Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?

Image
Home  “ For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.  For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”” [Romans 1:16-17]    "The just shall live by faith." P aul was not ashamed to take God’s good news to sophisticated Rome, even though the message had proved to be a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Greeks, for he knew that it is the power of God to salvation—that is, it tells how God by His power saves everyone who believes on His Son. This power is extended equally to Jews and Greeks.  The order for the Jew first and also for the Greek was fulfilled historically during the Acts period. While we have an enduring obligation to God’s ancient people, the Jews, we are n...

Jesus washes disciples' feet

Image
Home  “ Jesus answered him, "What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand."  Peter said to him, "You shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered him, "If I do not wash you, you have no share with me." Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!” [John 13:7-9]    'Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!' T he day before the crucifixion, the Lord Jesus knew that the time had come for Him to die, to rise again, and to go back to heaven. He had loved His own, that is, those who were true believers. He loved them to the end of His earthly ministry, and will continue to love them throughout eternity. But He also loved them to an infinite degree, as He was about to demonstrate. Jesus, who was conscious of His deity, was performing a slave's task.  He knew the work that had been committed to Him; He knew that H...
